Teen Kian White, 18, named as victim of Fraserburgh crash

An 18-year-old man who died in a motorbike crash in Aberdeenshire has been named locally as Kian White, after his motorbike collided with a Volkswagen Transporter in Fraserburgh on Thursday afternoon. Emergency services attended Watermill Road shortly after 3pm, but the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. The Volkswagen driver was uninjured.

Road closed for eight hours

The road was closed for around eight hours to allow crash site investigators to carry out their work, reopening around 11.30pm. Heartfelt tributes have since been paid by family and friends.

Kian's sister, Marci White, wrote on Facebook: "Kian, I honestly cannot wrap my head around this and I can't believe I'm writing this. You were one in million. You were the most kind hearted, genuine, hard working soul. I’ll always hold every memory of you so close, from the day you where born changing your nappies to watching you take your first steps to seeing you turn into the amazing man you were. I will cherish every moment we had. I love you forever and always my brother. Forever 18."

Family tributes to 'kind soul'

Another sister, Isla Leask, wrote: "RIP to my youngest brother. No words can describe the pain our family is in without you here now. You were still just a kid with so much ahead of you and what happened is an extremely sad tragedy. You will be loved and missed so dearly. Thank you for being the best brother and uncle you could’ve been. Forever in our hearts little bro. Fly high."

Kian's uncle, Andrew John Higgins, wrote: "Cannot believe I am writing this. My nephew, my buddy, my mini me. My special K. I am absolutely heartbroken you're gone... I am going to miss you. RIP. 18 forever." His sister-in-law, Ania Pawelska, added: "RIP bro. You you were an amazing brother-in-law anyone could ask for and the best uncle ever. We will forever miss you. Sleep tight."

GoFundMe launched for funeral costs

A GoFundMe page has been set up with a £3,000 target to cover funeral costs. The page states: "Kian was the most loving, caring and kind-hearted boy who would have done absolutely anything for anyone. He had a heart of gold and brought so much happiness to everyone who knew him. Kian had a huge passion for bikes. They were such a massive part of who he was. We are completely heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with losing Kian so suddenly and far too young. No family should ever have to face the unimaginable pain of arranging a funeral for their 18-year-old child."

Sergeant Dave Cooper said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at this difficult time. Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us. We’d also ask anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward."
