A 17-year-old boy has died during a family holiday on the Greek island of Kimolos after a suspected electric shock in the shower. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 9, and is believed to have been caused by faulty wiring.

The teenager, who has not been named, collapsed after the shock, according to local sources. The Irish family are said to have links to the island, where the boy’s mother is from. A police source told The Irish Sun: ‘He died in the shower as a result of electric shock. There was clearly some sort of wiring fault. It was instant.’
Investigation and Response
A forensic and technical inspection is being carried out at the rental home to investigate the possible fault. The stone house is reported to have been built before the 1970s. A post-mortem examination was scheduled to take place near Athens, the capital, on the day after the incident. The boy’s body is expected to be flown to Ireland for his family to pay their respects.
