A TalkTV star has lashed out at those who criticised Ann Widdecombe for her views, while failing to challenge those with similar views from other religions. The former Conservative minister was found dead at her home in Haytor, Dartmoor on July 9, having sustained serious injuries to her head. It was determined she had been killed the day before, after being hit over the head 21 times with a hammer.
Joshua Kerry, 28, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court over the death of the Reform UK spokeswoman on Tuesday (July 21).

Her death was discussed on TalkTV, with presenter Kevin O'Sullivan arguing that Widdecombe was far from your "cardboard cut-out right-winger". He said: "She listened very closely to what you were saying and she had no problem with people who disagreed with her."
O'Sullivan explained that while Widdecombe was a "fervent opponent to gay marriage", she insisted she would not change the law to make it illegal if Reform came into power. Reflecting on Widdecombe's remarks, the presenter recalled: "She said, 'Of course not, don't be ridiculous. You can't take back from people something you've given them.'"
"She was not your cardboard cut-out right-winger," he added.
Adam Brooks Hits Out at Hypocrisy
Adam Brooks then hit out at those who criticised Widdecombe, accusing them of refusing to hold others to the same standard. He said: "She's been attacked for this LGBT view, but it's funny, the people who attacked her for her those views, never attack Muslim MPs who have the same views.
"Why is that, Kev? There's such hypocrisy out there."
"They daren't say that to a Muslim MP who has the same belief. This is what I like to highlight, on the left, they just cannot take it at all."
Court Appearance
Kerry appeared in front of magistrates on Tuesday. Mr Goldspring told him: "You're charged with an offence of murder which can only be dealt with in a crown court. You are therefore remanded into custody and sent to Crown Court."
Prosecutor Kashif Malik said that, on July 8, Widdecombe had been eating lunch when Kerry allegedly pulled up outside the front of her house and entered using the front door. Kerry is accused of then walking to her kitchen and using a hammer to hit her on the top of her head 21 times. The suspect is then alleged to have tipped Widdecombe from her chair and took a wallet out of her handbag before leaving and driving off, the court heard.
