A Lanarkshire electronics firm has been targeted by vandals over allegations it is linked to a weapons manufacturer. Police were alerted to the incident at Kelvinside Electronics in Kilsyth at around 2:20am on Tuesday, September 22.
Footage shows sledgehammer attack
Footage seen by the Record shows two hooded thugs smashing windows outside the building with a sledgehammer. Red paint is also daubed on one of the windows, and at least six windows are smashed.
Previous protest at the same premises
Members of Palestine Action spray painted the walls at the building last year and claimed the company has a contract with the Italian defense contractor, Leonardo. In a statement released at the time, the group said: "We will not stop taking action to disrupt Scottish complicity in the war machine. Free Palestine."
Leonardo's Edinburgh site produces laser-targeting components used by Israeli F-35 fighter jets.
Police enquiries ongoing
Police Scotland has made no arrests after the latest incident and said their enquiries are ongoing. A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 2.20am on Tuesday, 22 September, 2026, officers received a report of vandalism at a premises on Gavell Road, Glasgow. Enquiries are ongoing."
