Tragic Death of a Rising Star
The music world is in mourning after Latin singer and social media influencer Maria De La Rosa was shot and killed in Los Angeles. The 22-year-old artist lost her life in what police are describing as an 'ambush-style killing' in the early hours of a Saturday morning.
Details of the Fatal Attack
The incident occurred just before 1:30 am on Bryant Street, east of Tampa Avenue in the Northridge neighbourhood. De La Rosa was sitting in a parked car with two other individuals when two unknown males ran up to the vehicle and fired multiple shots. The attack hit all three passengers inside the car.
Emergency services rushed the young singer to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The two other victims were reported to be in a critical condition following the shooting. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that multiple rounds were fired at the victims while they were parked.
Investigation and Tributes
As of Monday afternoon, no arrests have been made, and the motive for the shooting remains unknown. Police have launched a manhunt to find the person or persons responsible for the killing.
Following the announcement of her death, devastated fans flooded her social media pages with tributes. One fan wrote on Instagram: "This one hurt me the most. I love you forever. S*** will never be the same without you. RIP." Another said: "Sweet angel, may you rest peacefully now."
The tragedy comes just weeks after the singer celebrated her birthday. She had recently teased new music on Instagram, posting: "Ocupando cocinando en el Stu. Ya es tiempo... Game Time Baby," which translates to "Busy cooking in the [studio]… it’s about time."
De La Rosa was best known for her song "No Me Llames" (Don't Call Me), which she released in August. As an influencer, she had amassed a significant following of over 42,000 followers, often sharing content about her lavish lifestyle, expensive purchases, and travels.
