Jobless Simon Levy, 40, has been sentenced at the Old Bailey in London for the rape of a woman and the murder of two others. Judge Mark Lucraft KC presided over the sentencing.
Guilty verdicts
Levy was found guilty of murdering grandmother Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, in March 2025, and mother-of-four Sheryl Wilkins, 39, in August that year. He suffocated both women in sexually motivated attacks.
Ms Valencia-Trujillo was found in a largely abandoned block of flats on the Aylesbury estate in south-east London. Ms Wilkins was found behind a car park wall near Tottenham High Road, north London.
Prior attack
The killings came after Levy subjected a third woman to a brutal sex attack in January last year in the same car park where Ms Wilkins’ body was later found. The jury also found him guilty of two counts of rape, grievous bodily harm with intent, and the non-fatal smothering of the third woman.
The surviving victim, who suffered a broken collarbone, told police at the time that she had been raped and knew where her attacker lived. However, she was not formally interviewed until after Levy had killed twice.
