Sarah Ferguson has reportedly stunned friends by failing to attend the wedding of her beloved family member, Heidi Luedecke. The former Duchess of York has been keeping an extremely low profile since the full extent of her ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein came to light earlier this year.
Missing the Wedding
Heidi, the daughter of Sarah's elder sister Jane, married art consultant Ben Collinson at All Saints Church in Dummer, near Dummer Down Farm, where Sarah grew up. Sarah had previously expressed her affection for Heidi, calling her 'my golden niece, whom I love so much.'
Sarah's daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, were also absent, attending the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling instead. A family friend told the Daily Mail there was no good reason for Sarah to skip the ceremony, saying she would have been surrounded by love.
Low Profile
Sarah has been spotted at exclusive health spas and ski resorts, including a private chalet in the Austrian Alps and the Mayrlife Medical Health Resort, where a week-long stress-busting course costs around £4,000. She has been dropped by multiple charities since an email from 2011 was published, showing she contacted Epstein after publicly cutting ties.
Biographer Ingrid Seward told The i newspaper that Sarah has bounced back many times before, but this time she may need to lie low for a while. Her fall from grace is linked to her ex-husband Prince Andrew's alleged indiscretions. Despite attempts at financial independence, she has struggled with debt, reportedly reaching £45 million according to the Epstein files.
