Argentine footballer Santiago Nicolás Corazza has died after losing control of his car and crashing into a utility pole. The 20-year-old, who played for fifth-division side Club Atletico y Social Argentinos del Norte, was driving a Ford Ka on Provincial Route 65 near Cervantes at around 9:30am on Sunday when the accident occurred.

Corazza lost control of his vehicle and struck a roadside utility pole. The impact threw him from the car in Argentina's Rio Negro Province. He was rushed to Francisco López Lima Hospital in General Roca in critical condition but died several hours later despite doctors' efforts.
Football career
Originally from Cervantes, Corazza began his football career in the youth ranks at Deportivo Roca before spending time in Banfield's academy. At the time of his death, he played for Argentinos del Norte in the top tier of the Liga Deportiva Confluencia, a regional league the club has won three times.

Police and forensic investigators examined the crash scene to establish how the accident happened. The investigation is ongoing. Corazza is survived by his parents, Pao and Oso, his sister Josefina, and his grandmothers.
