A Russian drone has sparked a fire at a historic building in central Kyiv, with pictures showing people climbing out of windows and jumping to the ground.
Mayor confirms drone strike
Vitaliy Klitschko, mayor of the Ukrainian capital, said in a Telegram post on Monday: "An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has crashed into a non-residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, in the capital’s city centre. A fire has broken out."
Building identified
The Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+ said the building hit was the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
