Roy Keane couldn't resist a dig at Jordan Henderson following Kylian Mbappe's exuberant celebrations after France's 2-0 victory over Morocco in the World Cup quarter-final. The match, played in Boston, saw France book their place in the semi-finals against the winner of Spain or Belgium.
Mbappe's Recovery and Celebration
Mbappe had been substituted after receiving treatment for an apparent ankle injury, shaking his head as he left the pitch. However, at full-time, he sprinted onto the field, jumping and dancing with teammates in front of the French fans. ITV presenter Mark Pougatch remarked, 'I thought he was supposed to have a bad ankle!' Keane responded, 'I think his ankle is ok, don't you? He seems to be enjoying it, and why not?'
Keane's Jibe at Henderson
The Irishman then quipped, 'I hope he doesn't jump over the advertising,' referencing England midfielder Jordan Henderson's freak injury. Henderson was ruled out of the tournament after breaking his arm when slipping while jumping over an advertising board at the Azteca stadium.
Keane's comment drew laughter in the studio, highlighting the contrast between Mbappe's energetic display and Henderson's unfortunate mishap.
