Eyewitness Accounts

According to The Sun, a Renault car had been speeding through the roads of East Dulwich when the crash occurred. Ayoade was seen getting out of his car, holding his neck at a roundabout. People at the scene claimed that the Renault hit a woman before smashing into Ayoade's car and hitting another person.

Ayoade's Mercedes SUV sustained damage to the front right section but was not totalled. Officers arrived just before 5pm to cordon off the area. Both cars were towed away, and the two women who were knocked down were taken to hospital for treatment.

An eyewitness said: "The Renault came speeding along the road and hit a woman — she ended up on the other side of the roundabout. Then the Renault hit Richard Ayoade's car. It smashed straight into the side of his vehicle and then managed to hit another woman. We heard one of the pedestrians who was hit screaming and crying."

Emergency Response

The London Ambulance Service stated: "We treated two women at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre." Police confirmed that the two victims did not suffer life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

Ayoade was seen speaking to police after the crash. The Daily Star has reached out to his representatives for comment.

Ayoade's Career

Known for his awkward, nerdy style, Ayoade first gained fame as Maurice Moss on Channel 4's The IT Crowd, winning a BAFTA for his portrayal. He has since appeared in shows like Travel Man and Last One Laughing, and fronted the revival of The Crystal Maze.
