Miami rapper Lazaro Lesteiro-Diaz, 26, known as Yunglazz Drakula, was arrested on Thursday following an investigation into an alleged bank spoofing scheme. During a search of his residence, investigators found a room they described as 'full of Cuban Santeria/Voodoo witchcraft.'
Animal Corpses and Live Goat Found
Authorities discovered a live baby goat with orange paint markings circling its neck, which they feared was intended for slaughter. Two decapitated chickens were also found behind the house. FBI agents recovered a video of Lesteiro-Diaz holding two dead chickens by their feet, consistent with the ones found on the property.
The live goat was immediately removed and placed into the care of Miami Animal Rescue. It is currently housed at Felix Varela High School's Veterinary Academy, where a student said the animal was 'really scared' when it first arrived.
Seized Items and Charges
During the raid, officers seized a Glock 21 firearm with an extended magazine, ammunition, multiple identification documents, suspected cannabis, a call centre headset, and cash. Lesteiro-Diaz allegedly admitted during an interview that the items belonged to him.
He has been charged with five counts: possession of a controlled substance, money laundering, organized scheme to defraud, unlawful possession of identification, and animal cruelty with intent to injure or kill. He is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
