Pub landlady slams 'extremely rude' customers after staff in tears

Julie Harvey, landlady of The Winking Man pub on the A53 between Leek and Buxton, has spoken out after a man reduced staff to tears. In a Facebook post on Tuesday night, she said: 'In the last 24 years of being a landlady I have never had to refuse food service to extremely rude customers thinking its okay to abuse our staff and still get food.'

Landlady's frustration

Harvey added: 'I was taught as a child not to bite the hand that feeds you be polite and courteous to others and you will be respected. This evening was an exception a very rude man reducing staff to tears being extremely rude and not thinking they'd done anything wrong.'

Appeal for kindness

She wrote: 'What has gone wrong with society no social skills or respect for people .please be kind and courteous to shop workers, bar staff, waitresses and waiters because someday you will need feeding. Rant over just waiting for TripAdvisor. Probably they'll have nothing better to do.'
