Detectives in Lanarkshire have launched an appeal for information following a robbery in which three men broke into a property and assaulted the householder. The incident occurred in the Coalburn area, near the B7078 road, around 10.20pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
Victim Injured and Shaken
The 63-year-old woman inside the property sustained a minor injury and was treated by paramedics. She was left extremely shaken by the ordeal. Police have described the incident as particularly distressing for the victim.
Suspects Description
The three suspects were all wearing face coverings. One was wearing a black hat and black clothing, the second was wearing grey jogging bottoms, and the clothing of the third suspect is unknown.
Stolen Items
The thieves made off with cash, jewellery, and two vehicles: a blue VW Tiguan and a blue Ford Fiesta.
Police Investigation
Officers are conducting high-visibility patrols in the local area and carrying out extensive enquiries to identify those responsible. Detective Inspector Vicki Douglas, from Lanarkshire CID, said: “This was a particularly distressing incident for the victim and we can only be thankful that she was not seriously injured.”
Appeal for Witnesses
Police are urging any witnesses, local residents with private CCTV, or anyone with dashcam footage from the area to come forward. They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious vehicles prior to the incident.
