A plane has crashed near the remote Sucia Island on July 23, close to the border between Washington state and British Columbia. Emergency services are at the scene, with reports of up to 11 casualties and smoke filling the sky.

The US Coastguard and air medical transport service Airlift North West have been spotted hovering over the area of Shallow Bay, according to radar data. A local fireboat has also arrived at the scene.
Reports indicate the plane may have been a Kenmore Air aircraft, which is understood to have crashed on the shore of Sucia Island in the San Juan Islands. Flight Radar data shows the crash occurred around 5:22 pm, with thunderstorms in the vicinity at the time.
