A female airline passenger was arrested after allegedly taking off her pants and performing a sex act mid-flight, police said. Katy Inzer, 46, a bartender, was questioned by police after the plane landed at Miami International Airport.
The incident occurred on a Miami-bound flight from Baltimore on September 11. A flight attendant told police that a male passenger had raised the alarm 20 minutes into the flight.
Allegations and arrest
Flight attendant Gabriel Barrero told police that a 61-year-old male passenger reported that the woman in Seat 9D had removed her pants and "began to actively masturbate while making inappropriate sounds." Barrero said he approached Inzer and told her to put her pants back on, which she did "without further incident." She then fell asleep for the rest of the flight.
Police met the plane as it landed after reports of a "female causing a disturbance on an inbound flight." Inzer told officers she could not remember what happened because she had "fallen asleep." An arrest report noted a strong smell of alcohol and "blood shot eyes."
Investigation and aftermath
Inzer said her departure from Baltimore had been delayed by two hours, and as a result she had several drinks before boarding. Since the incident occurred in-flight, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office decided it was a matter for the FBI and forwarded its report to bureau agent Justin Houston. No charges appear to have been filed against Inzer, US media reports.
Inzer, a divorced mother who works at a bar and grill on Maryland's Eastern Shore, posted photos of her Florida trip on Facebook two days after the incident, captioning them "God gives us tiny love letters called clouds, flowers, and rain," according to The Smoking Gun.
