Oompa Loompa dwarf jailed for grooming teens for sexual images

Marc Corrieri, 34, of Motherwell, has been jailed for four years after admitting 10 sexual offence charges involving six victims aged between 13 and 17. The offences took place at his home between April 2019 and June 2025.

Grooming and payments

Corrieri, who is 4ft 2in, contacted his victims through social media apps and sent repeated sexual messages, asking for indecent pictures and videos of them having sex with their boyfriends. He paid one girl £150 and another £40 to send images of themselves in states of undress.

Depute fiscal Neil Thomson said none of the victims were known to Corrieri and that he initiated contact on social media. One 14-year-old girl was told he had a fetish for tights and stockings, and he offered to pay for videos of her having sex with her boyfriend. She felt threatened and asked him to stop, but he continued until she blocked him.

Court proceedings

Another 14-year-old victim was sent £150 via PayPal after being contacted. Corrieri appeared from custody at Hamilton Sheriff Court, where Sheriff Kevin McCallum KC said there was no alternative to jail and ordered him to be supervised for a further two years on release. Corrieri was placed on the sex offenders' register indefinitely and banned from contacting any of his victims again.

Diarmid Bruce, defending, said: "He has engaged in a course of criminal conduct which is completely unacceptable and there is no justification for that. He has let himself down badly. He has never had a sexual relationship with anyone, is very isolated and perceived children as easier to talk to. He did not disclose that he is a dwarf and this was online escapism to avoid the usual social stigma he faces."

Previous conviction

Corrieri previously worked for an events firm, dressing as an Oompa Loompa from Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for hen and stag parties. He quit after being caught pestering schoolgirls for sex and was ordered to perform 240 hours of unpaid work and placed on the sex offenders' register for three years in September 2014.

Earlier that year, he gave an interview about his job, saying: "I dress up for them as Superman or as an Oompa Loompa but I draw the line at dressing up as a woman." His rules for parties included no picking up or throwing him, no tampering with his drink, not saying 'midget' and no police involvement.

Sheriff McCallum told Corrieri: "These were a catalogue of offences and I'm satisfied that no other disposal other than a significant custodial sentence is appropriate. In my view the charges to which you pled guilty to represent a persistent course of sexual abuse to no fewer than six young females over a significant period of time."
