A young newlywed couple has died within days of each other, just a month after their wedding, leaving a community in mourning. Adam Hencek, 23, and Tomas Fueller, 25, passed away unexpectedly at their home in Co Tipperary, Ireland.
Details of the Tragic Loss
Adam died on Tuesday, June 2, at the couple's residence. His husband Tomas died at home three days later, on Friday, June 5. Their deaths occurred just weeks after they celebrated their wedding day.
A combined cremation service was held for the pair at the Island Crematorium in Ringaskiddy, Cork, last week.
Community Tributes and Fundraiser
The couple, originally from Partizanske and Malacky in Slovakia, are remembered for their infectious energy and love of life. A death notice states they will be deeply missed by their families, including Adam's parents, Peter and Lubica, and Tomas' grandparents, Jozefa and Milan.
A GoFundMe campaign, launched by Adam's aunt Mirka Kohutovičová, has raised over €12,000 from donors in Ireland and Slovakia to help with funeral expenses. Mirka wrote: "I am fundraising for the joint funeral of my nephew Adam Hencek and his husband Tomas Feuller, who tragically passed away on 02.06.2026 and 05.06.2026, respectively. We would greatly appreciate any donations to help fund the wake and the cremation of the newlyweds." She later updated: "We reached our goal thanks to all of your help."
Heartfelt Messages from Friends
Tributes have poured in from friends in Tipperary. One friend of Tomas said: "You were the brightest light on this earth and I know you'll be the brightest star. You will be beyond missed." Another added: "Adam taught me piano briefly, he was a brilliant teacher and a gentleman." A third wrote: "We met Adam and Tomas last year through work and their energy and love of life was infectious."
