Beloved Mum-of-Six Dies Suddenly in Taxi on Family Holiday
Mum-of-Six Dies Suddenly in Taxi on First Family Holiday in Years

A family has been left heartbroken after a beloved mum-of-six tragically passed away in a taxi while travelling to a caravan park with her children.

Lisa Osman, 46, from Moston, died during a taxi ride with her 13-year-old daughter Kadie and her partner, en route to a five-day stay at the Haven Marton Mere caravan park in Blackpool on Monday (June 15). Two of her other children, Leighlan and Mason, were travelling in a separate taxi.

The family, who had been putting money aside for the seaside getaway, had taken the train from Manchester for what was their first holiday in several years. Upon arriving in Blackpool, they divided themselves between two taxis owing to the volume of luggage they were carrying, with two of her other sons in the second vehicle.

However, shortly into the journey, family friend Danielle Latchford, speaking on behalf of the family, revealed that Lisa's husband Baba noticed she 'didn't look right'. After requesting the driver to head to hospital, Lisa lost the ability to speak before tragically passing away, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Upon arrival at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Danielle confirmed it was 'too late' to attempt resuscitation. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place later this week to establish the medical cause of her death.

Speaking to the M.E.N about the tragedy, Danielle said: "They hadn't been on holiday for years together, so were looking forward to it. They were so excited, their youngest Mason, who has special needs, said he couldn't wait to go swimming."

"They got the train up there and then got two taxis for all their bags. Leighlan and Mason were in one, and Lisa, Baba and Kadie were in the other. He looked at her and said she didn't look right and asked the driver to take them to hospital."

"She didn't look well at all but they didn't know what was up with her. She couldn't talk or anything. When they were about five minutes away, she just died. She wasn't unwell or anything. It just happened so suddenly. Nobody can believe it. Baba was doing CPR on her in the back of the taxi."

Lisa, who shares six children with long-term partner Baba, whom she encountered in Turkey, including eight-year-old Mason, is a familiar face throughout the Moston community, characterised as an 'amazing' mum who would 'do anything for anyone'.

She routinely assists partner Baba with their endeavours at The Hub, a community centre serving the locality, and they've organised countless fundraising initiatives while championing disadvantaged youngsters to participate in football or boxing.

"She literally just went, there and then," Danielle said. "They had all been singing 'We're all going on a summer holiday' two hours before. None of us can believe it. By the time they got to the hospital, she was already gone."

Paying tribute, friend of ten years Danielle added: "Lisa has just always been there. She was the life and soul of everything and in the community. Everyone knows her. She has lots of grandkids and absolutely adored them. I can't even put it into words, you'd have to meet her to understand. Her kids were her life, she was an amazing mum, and she was the kind of person who would just do anything for anyone."

Messages of condolence poured in across social media, with Lisa's son Jordan writing: "You were my mum who did an unbelievable job raising me to be the man I am today and I'll always love you and never forget you. Rest in peace Mum!"

One tribute stated: "My heart goes out to you and your family. It's such a sad shock. So young too. I love Lisa. She was a good a person always let on and smiled over the years."

A GoFundMe page has been established to help cover Lisa's funeral costs after her sudden passing. The appeal explained: "Finding the words to write this was so so hard yet nowhere in comparison to how the family are feeling right now."

"On Monday 15th Lisa unexpectedly passed away on a family holiday as you can imagine this was a massive shock and has devastated a lovely family. I know nothing can really take away the pain they're feeling right now but in doing this we hope we can at least take a little bit of the financial stress away to help towards the funeral expenses and for the younger children."
