A motorcyclist is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash on a mountain road in Bargoed. Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.
Crash Details
Police and paramedics were called to Gelligaer Common Road, Bargoed, at around 7.50pm on Tuesday, June 23. The collision involved a car and a motorbike. The male motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries; his condition remains unknown.
Arrests Made
A 48-year-old man and a 34-year-old man have both been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drugs, and grievous bodily harm. Both are in police custody.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision on Gelligaer Common Road, Bargoed, at around 7.50pm on Tuesday, June 23. Officers attended alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance. The collision involved a motorbike and a car; the rider of the motorbike was taken to hospital with serious injuries."
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers are appealing for any motorists who were travelling on Gelligaer Common Road or nearby between 7.30pm and 8pm on Tuesday to come forward. They are also keen to obtain any dashcam or CCTV footage of a car and motorbike in the Bargoed town area during that time.
