A moped was set on fire at Fairwater Park in Cardiff on Sunday evening, with fire crews called to extinguish the blaze. South Wales Police are not investigating the incident due to a lack of evidence.
Fire at Fairwater Park
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to the park near St Fagans Lane at around 7.30pm on Sunday. Footage from the incident shows black plumes of smoke rising into the woodland area as the vehicle erupts into orange and yellow flames.
A witness claimed she saw a group of youths dressed in black running away from the scene in the moments after the fire erupted.
Response and police decision
A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "SWFRS received a call at approximately 7.37pm on August 23, to reports of a vehicle fire near St Fagans, Cardiff. Crews attended the incident and extinguished one derelict vehicle on fire. STOP message was received around 8.18pm."
South Wales Police said they did not attend this incident due to a "lack of evidence."
