The Major League Soccer (MLS) has launched an investigation involving Casemiro as it reviews a tampering allegation against Inter Miami over the signing of the Brazilian midfielder.
League statement
"The league is gathering all relevant information and will refrain from further comment until the review is complete," MLS said in a statement.
LA Galaxy claim
LA Galaxy have reportedly filed a tampering claim with MLS, alleging Inter Miami made contact with Casemiro without first securing the player's Discovery Priority. In a statement released by LA Galaxy, they said: "The LA Galaxy and Inter Miami CF have reached a settlement for the Discovery priority to sign Casemiro, and the terms will be released upon conclusion of the tampering investigation currently open with Major League Soccer."
Settlement reached, investigation continues
Although Inter Miami and LA Galaxy have since reached a settlement over Casemiro's Discovery Priority, the league will continue to review the tampering claim.
"While Inter Miami CF and the LA Galaxy have reached a settlement for the Discovery Priority to sign Casemiro, the terms will be released upon conclusion of the tampering investigation," MLS said in a statement.
