Emergency services are responding to an incident on Market Street in Manchester city centre this morning (Wednesday, July 29). Pictures show a large police and ambulance presence, with a cordon in place around the Market Street tram stop.

Tram services disrupted

Trams have been halted in the city centre. In a post on X, the Bee Network said: "Due to a police incident at Market Street, there is no tram service operating between Victoria and Piccadilly. Services will operate Bury to Victoria and Ashton to Piccadilly."

Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further details. The incident is ongoing.
