Man's Petty Revenge After Neighbour's Driveway Demand

A man has shared how he dealt with a neighbour who demanded he move his car so she could park in his driveway. The neighbour, who had grown used to using the space when the previous owners lived there, was told to leave and had police called on her.

Neighbour's Brazen Demand

The anonymous man explained on Reddit that he and his wife bought a house with a larger corner property in a German village from an 87-year-old in January. While most neighbours were friendly, some had proved remarkably cheeky.

In the past, he had issues with people parking on his lawn, with drivers placing "all four wheels on the grass, parallel parking," before he had the vehicles towed away. He had tried to sort things out calmly but was told to get lost as they were hosting a party and should "live with their guests parking" on his lawn.

Confrontation at the Door

On the latest occasion, he was working from home when he answered the door to find a neighbour standing there. She asked in a condescending tone whose car was in the driveway blocking it. When he said it was his, she introduced herself and demanded he move it because she wanted to park there, as she couldn't find a good spot on the road.

When he challenged her entitlement, she explained that the previous owners "hadn't had a car," so they "never noticed" when she used the space. She said that because she always did that, he should make space, or she'd call the cops.

Police Called and Resolution

The man wrote: "Told her to pound sand and closed the door in her face. She actually called the cops, but that was resolved quite easily, and we had her removed from our property. The audacity of these folks is just astonishing."

Commenters reacted with disbelief. One wrote: "That is narcissism waking and talking there. You can bet she'll be back." Another said: "I guess she is just a form of entertainment for now, until the novelty wears off or she escalates."

A third Redditor commented: "This is the kind of delusion you only get when you've never been told 'no' in your whole damn life." Another added: "The entitlement is off the charts! Imagine calling the cops because you can't park on someone else's property. Glad you handled it well, sounds like Karen needs a refresher on what 'private property' means!"
