A man was stabbed on one of Cardiff's busiest streets on Monday night, prompting a police cordon and firearms officers to attend the scene.
South Wales Police received a 999 call shortly before 11.15pm on July 27 reporting that a man had been stabbed on Albany Road in the Roath area. Officers and paramedics responded, and the injured man was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.
Investigation ongoing
On Tuesday morning, a cordon remained in place outside Albany Primary School, with yellow evidence markers on the ground. Police continued their investigation at the scene.
A local business owner said they were unaware of the reason for the cordon but had been told an incident occurred on Monday evening.
Police appeal for information
A South Wales Police spokeswoman said: "South Wales Police received a 999 call at 11.14pm yesterday (July 27) to reports of a man having been stabbed. Firearms officers attended, alongside paramedics, and a man was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged."
She added: "Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and there will be an increased police presence for reassurance in the area.
