A man has been sentenced for dangerous driving after a high-speed police chase on the M6 ended with his BMW crashing into a lorry. Ideel Shad, 22, from Lancaster Road, Brierley Hill, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, August 11.

Shad was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for 12 months, after pleading guilty to dangerous driving and driving with no insurance at an earlier hearing.
Details of the Chase
Around 1.10pm on Friday, June 5, police attempted to stop a white BMW 4 series on the M6 northbound. Shad swerved towards the main carriageway, fleeing from officers at speed and swerving between lanes. The officer lost sight of his car due to the speed and manner of driving in busy traffic.
Further down the motorway, the car crashed with a lorry. As police arrived at the scene, Shad was standing next to his destroyed BMW. He was arrested on suspicion of several offences including dangerous driving and driving without insurance.
Police Comment
Shad told officers: "Do you see why I didn't stop now?"
Sgt Andy Brett from the Roads and Crime Unit said: "Shad's driving was reckless and dangerous. He put other road users and himself in harm's way, the consequences of which don't bear thinking about. To drive like that in busy traffic was idiotic and has resulted in this conviction. I hope he now realises that illegal actions have consequences."
