A man has been injured following a crash involving a police vehicle in Anfield on Monday, June 29. Emergency services responded to Oakfield Road shortly after 4pm, where a section of the road was cordoned off.
Police Chase Leads to Collision
Merseyside Police said officers on patrol spotted a man riding an electric motorbike dangerously along Breck Road, including allegedly going through red lights. The rider, a man in his 20s, failed to stop for officers before "contact was made at slow speed" on Oakfield Road.
The man suffered a suspected ankle injury and was assessed by paramedics at the scene. A red electric motorbike was seen lying next to an unmarked police car inside the cordon before being recovered by a removal truck.
Witness Accounts
Local residents described a large emergency services response. One witness told the Liverpool Echo: "We saw the kid sitting down on the pavement, leaning against the railings. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. He had his sock off and was getting his leg looked at."
A road closure remained in place while emergency services dealt with the incident, with motorists advised to avoid the junction. The road has since reopened.
