Man dies after tiger attack at Yorkshire Wildlife Park

A man has died from injuries sustained during a tiger attack at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster. South Yorkshire Police confirmed the man's family have been informed after the incident was reported at 1.35pm today.

Incident details

Witnesses claimed the man looked "agitated" before jumping into the enclosure and being bitten by one of the two tigers. Shots were reportedly heard at the site, believed to be from gas canisters used to scare the tiger back.

Park response

The park has been evacuated and closed due to the ongoing emergency. The two tigers at the zoo are named Altai and Tschuna. More details are expected to follow as the investigation continues.
