Man dies after Land Rover crash near Perthshire village

A 41-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash involving a Land Rover Freelander in Perthshire.

Emergency crews were called to the A824, Auchterarder to Aberuthven Road, near Damside, at around 2:40pm on Friday, August 28. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Road closed for nine hours

Police closed the road to allow enquiries to be carried out. It was reopened nearly nine hours later at 11.30pm.

Officers have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or has information to come forward.

Appeal for dash-cam footage

Sergeant Brian McEwen said: "Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed it or who has information which could assist our investigation to contact us."

"I would also ask anyone who was in the area and may have dash-cam footage to please get in touch if it holds anything which could be relevant."
