A 55-year-old man has died after being found seriously injured on a street in Edinburgh. Emergency crews were called to Oxgangs Bank at 1.35am on Saturday, August 15, following a report of an injured man. Police and ambulance attended, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police treat death as unexplained
Police have stated that the death is currently being treated as unexplained. Inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. A large cordon was in place at the scene, with multiple police vehicles in attendance.
Local resident describes shock
One local resident, who wished not to be named, told Edinburgh Live: "I was coming home from work and went to go to the shop and had to go through the Aldi carpark instead because the path down the side of the library to the shops and the back alley behind the pub to the pub door was all taped off. It was a bit of a shock as it's generally a quiet area and especially seeing them guarding what looked like a single person tent."

Police and ambulance attended and the 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and the death is currently being treated as unexplained."
