A man is fighting for his life in hospital following an alleged stabbing at a home in Renfrew, with police confirming a teenager has been charged in connection with the incident.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in the early hours of Monday, June 8. An alarm was raised around 5:40 AM after police received a report of a serious assault.
The victim, whose age has not been disclosed, was transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries.
Arrest and Charges
A 19-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the assault. He appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, June 9.
Local reports indicate that a police cordon remained in place on Victoria Drive East until Friday, June 12, but investigating officers have since left the scene, according to Glasgow Live.
Police Statement
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5:40 AM on Monday, 8 June 2026, police received a report of a man being seriously assaulted within a property in Renfrew.
“He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries.
“A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged and is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence.
