Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush's £200,000 Mercedes-Benz was clamped after he parked in a 'loading only' bay in Manchester city centre while getting a haircut.
The 27-year-old Egypt international was caught out by the council, which left a lock on the wheel and a ticket on the windshield of his 2025 Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 MHEV.
The vehicle was spotted on South King Street, Manchester, on Aug 14 around 8.30 pm.
Removal fees and towing charges
Manchester City Council's removal fee for a clamp can reach up to £105 if the owner fails to contact them within 24 hours. The car will then be towed to the pound, where the owner will be charged £12 a day until the vehicle is collected. The standard removal fee starts at £40.
This is not the first time the forward has been caught out for his parking in Manchester. He has previously been caught three times on camera for parking irresponsibly.
Loan move to Tottenham Hotspur
The clamp could serve as a sour end to Marmoush's time in Manchester, with the star having now completed a loan move to Tottenham Hotspur. The winger came on against Arsenal in the second half of his side's 3-0 loss to the Premier League Champions in the Community Shield on 16 Aug, days after his vehicle was clamped.
Despite being subbed on in the 51st minute at 3-0, the Egyptian had little impact on the match.
Manchester City have agreed to loan the 27-year-old to Spurs for the season, but the move will be made permanent next summer with a fee of £60m agreed between the two sides.
City career and summer departures
Marmoush moved to the Etihad from Frankfurt in January 2025, playing 62 times for City and scoring 16 goals.
In a statement on their website, City confirmed the exit of the Egypt international, ending with the sentence: "Everyone at City would like to wish Omar good luck with his loan switch to Spurs."
Marmoush becomes the latest player to leave the Etihad in what has been a summer of change under new head coach Enzo Maresca. Tijjani Reijnders, James Trafford, Rodri, Nico Gonzalez and Savinho have already been sold this summer, and that's without mentioning Bernardo Silva and John Stones, whose contracts expired at the end of last season.
