Man Charged with Murder of One-Month-Old Baby in Leeds

A 29-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a one-month-old baby boy in Leeds, six years after the infant's death. Niall Worsfold, from Farrow Road, is accused of killing the newborn on July 10, 2020, six days after the baby was rushed to hospital from a house in Leeds, West Yorkshire Police confirmed in a statement on Wednesday.

Court Appearance and Charges

Worsfold is scheduled to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 9, charged with murder and child cruelty. He has been remanded in custody pending the hearing. The infant died on July 10, 2020, after being admitted from a property on Lincombe Drive in Gledhow, north-east Leeds.

Police Investigation

The charges follow an investigation by the West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team. A 25-year-old woman who was also arrested in connection with the probe has since been released with no further action. Police have not disclosed further details about the case or the relationship between the accused and the victim.
