A 76-year-old man has died following a crash between a motorbike and a car on the A488 at Monaughty, Knighton, in Powys. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 12pm on Wednesday, August 12.
Collision details
The collision involved a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a white Ford Transit. The motorcyclist, a 76-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. There were no other injuries.
Road closure and investigation
The road was closed to allow collision investigators to examine the scene and reopened at around 12.30am on Thursday, August 13. Dyfed-Powys Police is now appealing for witnesses, particularly motorists who were travelling along the A488 between Dolau and Monaughty at the time and may have dash cam footage.
A police spokesperson said: "Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision on the A488 at Monaughty, Knighton that occurred at approximately 12pm on Wednesday, August 12." The spokesperson added: "Anyone who was travelling along the A488 between Dolau and Monaughty at the relevant time, is asked to contact police."
