Man, 51, dies months after M60 crash near Bury

A 51-year-old man has died more than three months after a two-vehicle crash on the M60 motorway near Bury.

Collision details

The smash occurred on the clockwise carriageway between junction 16 for Clifton and junction 17 for Prestwich just before 9.15pm on Wednesday, July 1. A stretch of the motorway was closed as emergency services responded.

At the time, police said no injuries were 'assessed as being life-changing or life-threatening'. However, the driver of one of the vehicles, a 51-year-old man, has since died.

Police investigation

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "It cannot be definitively linked to the collision at this stage and work is ongoing to determine the exact cause and nature."

All occupants of the vehicles involved have been identified. Police today (October 8) appealed for information about the crash.
