Fire crews are tackling a major blaze at an accommodation block in Catterick Garrison, the UK's largest military barracks, with the incident expected to continue throughout the night.
Emergency responders were called to the Gaza Barracks Accommodation structure within Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, on Thursday evening, 24th September. Witnesses report that plumes of smoke from the fire are visible across considerable distances.
Multiple appliances at the scene
A North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed: "North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have multiple appliances in attendance an accommodation block fire."
"An appliance from County Durham and Darlington along with their Ariel Ladder Platform are also in attendance. This incident is expected to be ongoing throughout the night."

Catterick Garrison, situated close to Richmond in North Yorkshire, stands as the world's largest British Army garrison.
Councillor Kevin Foster, representing Hipswell and Colburn, told the Northern Echo: "At this stage, details are limited, and I am awaiting further information."
