Official statement

A National Highways spokesperson said: "The M56 eastbound between J7 and J6 near Manchester Airport is being closed following a 2-car collision. 1 of the cars has overturned. The other car has caught fire. Current delays of 20 mins on approach, 2 miles of congestion."
