Greek police have disclosed the disturbing final text messages sent from the mobile phone of Elisabeth-Jane Ross, a 38-year-old Scottish woman whose body was discovered in a suitcase dumped in an abandoned building in Athens.
Discovery and Timeline
Ms Ross was found by a homeless man on Evelpidon Street in the Kypseli neighbourhood at around 1pm on July 18. Authorities believe she died between five and seven days before her remains were located.
Detectives investigating the murder revealed that text messages were sent to Ms Ross's family on July 15. The messages claimed she "needed some time to herself" and "wanted to be alone for a while".
Police Investigation
A Greek officer stated: "The phone was being used. Text messages were even sent obviously with a view to making people believe she was still alive. We are treating the building as a crime scene."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are aware of the death of a Scottish woman in Athens and are liaising with authorities in Greece. Officers are providing support to her family in Scotland."
