Emergency services remain at the scene of a fire which has caused substantial damage to a North East business. Fire crews were called to a blaze at Timberline in Jarrow in the early hours of this morning.
Witness describes moment he spotted the fire
Sean Cardiff was driving home from work after 12am when he saw the fire and contacted 999. Ferocious flames could be seen rising from the building, sparking a huge emergency response.
Business owner confirms firm will continue
Today, photos from the scene show the extent of the damage to the outside of the business, which has been operating for 30 years. As police and firefighters continue to respond to the incident, business owner Brian Moyse confirmed that the firm will continue to operate.
