Imran 'Baldy' Shahid, a notorious race-hate killer, is currently serving a 25-year sentence for the brutal murder of 15-year-old Kriss Donald in Glasgow. The attack occurred on March 15, 2004, on Kenmure Street in the city's southside. Shahid, along with five others, targeted Kriss in an apparent revenge attack following an earlier altercation at a nightclub with a group of white men.
The Murder of Kriss Donald
The gang bundled Kriss into the back of a car and drove him to Clyde Walkway. There, they held his arms back, stabbed him 13 times, doused him in petrol, and set him on fire as he bled to death. Shahid has since been held in various Scottish prisons, including Inverness, Peterhead, Perth, Kilmarnock, and Saughton.
Leader of the Shielders Gang
At the time of Kriss's death, Shahid was the ringleader of the Shielders gang, a racially motivated crime syndicate that terrorized the Pollokshields area of Glasgow in the early 2000s. The gang was known for extreme violence, extortion, and intimidation. Recently, Shahid refused to help a former gang member, Ameer Arshad, who was convicted for rape. A source revealed that Arshad sought protection money, but Shahid, disgusted by his crimes, declined.

The Shielders Gang's Reign
The Shielders were a predominantly British-Pakistani street gang operating in Glasgow's South Side during the 1990s and early 2000s. They brought unprecedented fear and violence to the community, clashing with rival gangs and engaging in firebombings. Shahid's brother, Zeeshan 'Crazy' Shahid, also has a substantial criminal record, including ordering a revenge hit on a cooperator in the Kriss Donald case.
Prison Attacks and Influence
Shahid has been attacked in prison, including being slashed from ear to backside in Saughton in 2011 and assaulted with a 15kg weight in Kilmarnock jail in 2013. In 2022, he reportedly slashed his own throat in Peterhead prison, though details remain unclear. Despite incarceration, he continues to exert control over the Shielders gang from his cell.
