In Tuesday's (August 11) episodes of Hollyoaks, now available on Channel 4 streaming, Jonah Keane (Matthew Wolfenden) makes a shocking move by drugging the tiramisu he serves to his guests with wife Beth's (Rebecca Ryan) anxiety medication.
Jonah's desperate act
Jonah, struggling with the prospect of son Caleb (Lewis Walton) leaving, has been dealing with setbacks. Caleb, injured in a crash earlier this year, initially planned to move to London with girlfriend Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) but changed his mind to travel the world, as it was his mum's greatest wish.
However, Jonah destroyed Caleb's hopes earlier this week by revealing that Caleb's mum, who tragically died, was in love with someone else and intended to travel with that person, leaving them behind.
Party in honour of his late wife
Beth, still on edge about Cindy Cunningham's (Stephanie Waring) presence, was encouraged by Jonah to take her anxiety medication. To mark his dead wife's birthday, Jonah threw a party in her honour, though animosity between him and Caleb remained.
Guests Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) were confused about attending an event for someone they didn't know and decided to leave. Determined to make everyone stay, Jonah drugged the tiramisu with Beth's medication.
What happens next?
He offered everyone a portion in subsequent scenes. The question remains: will anyone realise what Jonah has done? Will Caleb suss it out, and if so, how will he react?
Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4's streaming platform, or airs on TV at 7pm on E4.
