A massive fire is ripping through a warehouse in Essex, with nearby residents told to keep doors and windows closed.
Flames and plumes of smoke can be seen coming from the fire in Harwich, as emergency services rush to the property on Stour Road this morning.
Fire service statement
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: "Thank you to everyone who was rung our Control Room to let us know about the fire on Stour Road in Harwich."
"Our crews are at the scene and are working to extinguish a warehouse that is alight. There is a lot of smoke coming from the incident, if you live nearby please keep all your windows and doors shut."
Ongoing incident
The fire service issued the statement as crews continue to tackle the blaze, with smoke visible from a distance. Residents in the vicinity are advised to remain indoors with windows and doors closed until further notice.
