Good Morning Britain was halted minutes into its ITV breakfast show with a devastating breaking news update from South Africa. Broadcaster Susanna Reid interrupted the regularly scheduled program to announce that at least 12 people have been killed in a mass shooting in the heart of Johannesburg.
It is understood that the attack took place at an informal settlement in Cleveland late on Tuesday night (June 9). Reid began: "Here's some breaking news from the last hour. 12 people have been killed in a mass shooting in Johannesburg, with police in South Africa claiming another nine people were injured in an attack. A manhunt to find the suspects is now under way."
