Girl, 5, Fighting for Life After A4067 Crash

A five-year-old girl remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a severe multi-vehicle collision on the A4067 near Craig-y-Nos, north of Ystradgynlais. The crash occurred at around 5:50 pm on Sunday, July 5, involving three vehicles: a green Ford Fiesta, a black Volkswagen Polo, and a grey Vauxhall Grandland. Five people sustained serious injuries in total, with the young child airlifted to hospital.

Arrests Made in Connection with the Crash

Dyfed-Powys Police have arrested two men in connection with the incident. The driver of the green Ford Fiesta, a 39-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and child neglect. A yellow Ford Fiesta was later identified as being involved, and its driver, a 65-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Both suspects remain in police custody.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

A force spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information following a road traffic collision that occurred on the A4067, near Craig-y-Nos, at around 5.50pm on Sunday, July 5. The collision involved a green Ford Fiesta, a black Volkswagen Polo, and a grey Vauxhall Grandland. Five people were seriously injured during the collision and taken to hospital for treatment. This included a five-year-old that was taken to hospital by air ambulance with injuries believed to be life-threatening. The child remains in hospital in a stable condition."
