A four-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after an empty car reportedly rolled over her in a car park in Wirral. Emergency services were called to the scene near Mimosa Tea Garden at Eastham Country Park on Green Lane at around 3:50pm on Saturday, June 20.
Police investigation underway
Merseyside Police confirmed that the vehicle was unattended at the time of the incident. The owner of the vehicle remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries. The force stated: “We are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision involving a child at a car park in Eastham this afternoon. At around 3:50pm we received a report that a four-year-old girl was injured following an unattended vehicle rolling over her in the car park of Mimosa Tea Garden on Green Lane.”
The child sustained injuries in the incident, but her condition has not been disclosed by authorities. She was taken to hospital for assessment.
Appeal for witnesses
Merseyside Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the crash.
