Armed police were called to a Lancashire village after a 17-year-old girl was stabbed in the neck. The incident occurred on Wood Street in Brierfield shortly after 3pm on Friday, June 12.

Police Response and Arrest

Officers, including armed units, arrived at the scene and a cordon was established. A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The victim was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the back of her neck.

Community Reassurance

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: 'We know that this will cause alarm in the local community and extra patrols will be in the area this evening to provide reassurance.' Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage to contact 101, quoting log 0836 of 12th June.
