Lilly Anne Jones, a 14-year-old girl, died from multiple stab wounds to her neck and trunk, an inquest at Gwent Coroner's Court has heard. Her body was discovered in Duffryn Park, Blaina, on June 22 after she was reported missing two days earlier.
Discovery and Injuries
Lilly was reported missing from her home in Blaina on the evening of June 20. She was found shortly after 10pm on June 22 in a woodland area near the bowls club. The inquest heard she sustained injuries to her chest and neck.
Senior coroner Caroline Saunders stated that a post-mortem examination by Dr Richard Jones gave a provisional cause of death as "1A, multiple stab wounds to the neck and trunk." The inquest has been adjourned for further inquiries.

A 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to legal reasons, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court last month accused of murdering Lilly. The case continues.
