A 10-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash on the A721 in Carnwath, South Lanarkshire, on Sunday, August 16. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and occurred at 5.40pm east of the junction with Kersewell Avenue.
Two women also injured
The 44-year-old female driver and a 72-year-old female front seat passenger were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries. The 10-year-old girl, a rear seat passenger, was taken by air ambulance to the same hospital.
Road closed for enquiries
The road was closed to allow investigations and reopened around 2.15am on Monday. Sergeant Elaine Scott said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us. I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to get in touch.”
