A gang broke into a house in Wallasey on Tuesday evening, October 13, and demanded money from three men inside, leaving them distressed. Police were called to the property on Serpentine Road at around 8.50pm following reports of unknown males forcing their way in.
Injuries and escape
One man sustained a cut to the head and a second suffered a minor head injury, while a third was unharmed. The offenders left empty-handed and fled in the general direction of Central Park.
When the Liverpool ECHO visited the scene at 10.15pm, three houses were cordoned off on Serpentine Road. Two ambulances and a paramedic car were seen alongside four police cars, two Matrix vans and a scientific support vehicle.
Investigation underway
CCTV, house-to-house and forensic work is continuing in the area. Police believe the house was targeted but do not yet know why. Detectives were carrying out door-to-door enquiries, and a police car was parked at the junction with Chepstow Avenue.
Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said: “We believe that the location was targeted by the offenders, for reasons we are looking to establish. This incident left the victims understandably distressed and will of course cause the wider community concern.”
Appeal for information
Ryan urged anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward, adding: “If you live in or around Serpentine Road, please check any devices as you may have captured vital footage or images of those suspects making off.”
