Greater Manchester Police have made a fourth arrest in connection with a stabbing that left a man fighting for his life in Failsworth. A 45-year-old woman was arrested on Monday on suspicion of assault and theft, the force confirmed on Tuesday. She is currently being questioned in custody.
Three previously arrested individuals bailed
Emergency services were called to Hale Lane on Friday evening, June 20, following reports of a stabbing. The victim was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds and remains in critical condition. Two men, aged 19 and 46, were arrested later that night at an address on Firdale Road in Moston on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. A 17-year-old boy handed himself in at Ashton-under-Lyne police station on Saturday evening. All three have since been bailed pending further investigation.

Detective Inspector Kelly Paterson of Oldham CID said: “We have been working to understand the motive for this attack and our investigation has resulted in the arrest of three people. The investigation will be continuing throughout the weekend and into next week when we will have officers on patrol in both areas and making house-to-house enquiries.” She urged anyone with information to call 0161 856 8906 or 0161 856 9080, quoting log 3924-19/6/26.
